At FUMC, we believe children are a vital part of the life of our church family. Our goal is to provide quality Christian programming in a safe and loving environment. We commit to engage our children with God’s truths each week through relevant Bible teaching, group discussion, music and age-appropriate activities.
Our Children’s Ministry serves children from birth through 5th grade through weekly programs divided by age and events held throughout the year.

Children are welcome participants in both Sunday morning worship services. Sermon Notes for young worshipers, intended to help children engage in the service, are available from the ushers.
Children 3 years old through kindergarten are dismissed from the worship services after Children’s Bread, a message especially for children from Bro. Bill Elwell, to go to Children’s Church. Children’s Church is located on the second floor of the Education Building.
Sunday School classes for children 3 years old through 5th grade meet each Sunday at 10:00 am on the second floor of the Education Building. During Sunday School, children will enjoy age appropriate Bible study and activities.
Our Nursery, for children birth through 2 years old, is located on the first floor of the Education Building. Caring volunteers provide consistency for the children and maintain our high standards of health and safety. The nursery is available from 8:20 am – 12:15 pm each Sunday.
3:00 – 4:30 pm – Choir is for children 1st -5th grade.

Each child who participates in Wonderful Wednesday must register with the Children’s Director in the church office and a signed, updated Consent and Medical Release Form is required.
We pick up children from Westside Elementary and US Jones Elementary each Wednesday during the school year for an afternoon of age appropriate Bible study, games, activities and lots of fun! A light snack is provided.
Pre-registered 3 and 4 year olds may be dropped off at 3:00 pm in their classroom in the Education Building. There, kids will have age appropriate Bible lessons, crafts, and a light snack. They have choir and handbells in their classroom each week at 3:30 pm and are directed by Dr. Bonnie Rice.
In compliance with FUMC’s Safe Sanctuary Policy, a criminal background check is required for all persons who work with our children, youth, or vulnerable adults. Each staff member and volunteer must review and sign our Safe Sanctuary Policy.
