Rev. John Woodrow hails from Sydney, NS. Canada. After serving twenty years in the Canadian Armed Forces, he attended St. Francis Xavier University earning a BA (Hons) in both Psychology and Religious Studies. His MDiv was completed at Harvard Divinity School with a concentration in Pastoral Counseling. John has served fourteen years as a police chaplain and as an adjunct professor at Florida State University as part of his community ministry. He is married to Melanie and they have five children and three grandchildren. In addition to family time, John is most passionate about discussing Scripture and talking pro-hockey (Go Bruins).
Clarice (Recie) Kelly grew up in Dinwiddie, VA. In 2021, she moved to Demopolis, AL with her husband Aaron and 4 children. Recie has 3 boys; Aidan, Ashton, and Ethan. She has 1 daughter, Emery. Aidan is currently completing his sophomore year at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Emery will attend college soon and is currently deciding between The University of Alabama or the University of South Alabama. When Recie isn’t working or running the kids to sporting events, she likes to read, visit the beach and sun, and take naps with her cat, Kiki.
Mallie Quarles was born in Forkland, Alabama and married her husband Tony in 2002. Together, they have four children. Their eldest daughter Ella and her husband Trace live in Auburn, Alabama. Their other girls Alle (17), Anna Claire (13), and Toni (12) are oftentimes busy in Demopolis going to school, hanging out with friends, and sporting events. When Mallie is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, the beach and pool, cooking, and decorating. Mallie adores her two labradooles, Matt and Dixie.
Dr. Bonnie J. Rice is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Theology and Church Music from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama. She then graduated from The University of Alabama with a Master’s degree in Music. In December of 2018, Dr. Bonnie received a doctoral degree in Musical Arts from Alabama and plays piano, organ, cello, and guitar. Dr. Bonnie frequently performs cello with the Starkville Symphony Orchestra in Starkville, Mississippi, and other regional orchestras and many, many gigs. Aside from work and teaching, She enjoys the outdoors, her Bichon Frise, Birx, and both college and professional football. Birx and Dr. Bonnie recently became a family of three, with the adoption of Ryeland Alexander Rice on July 23, 2024.
Leodesie Dubose (Desie) grew up in the Philippines where she graduated from Caraga State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She moved to the United States in 2014 with her husband, Maurice. She and her husband have one son, Maurice Jr, (MJ). Desie has been on staff since March of 2017. On January 24, 2020 Desie was sworn in as an American citizen in Montgomery, Alabama.
